Our history
Outsourcing IT systems to data centers has defined BEKOM since its founding – at a time when the term "cloud" was not yet known. The approach has remained unchanged: operations in secure, dedicated data center environments in Germany, not in anonymous hyperscaler environments.
The company sources colocation and capacity exclusively from ISO 27001 and TÜV Level 2/3 certified data centers in Germany. Today, BEKOM covers the full range of IT services for enterprises with three technical focus areas – BEKOM Cloud, BEKOM OPEN PRO and BEKOM MANAGED – as a full-service provider or for specific services, with a consistent focus on data sovereignty, predictability and partnership.
Guiding principles
Data sovereignty and residency
IT operations and data processing in Germany, in certified data centers. No offloading to anonymous mass-scale facilities; clear allocation and control for the customer.
No lock-in
BEKOM works with standard enterprise technologies – no exotic custom developments or vendor-specific platforms. Virtualization with VMware, Proxmox or KVM; storage with Ceph or commercial SAN solutions; databases PostgreSQL, MySQL or Microsoft SQL Server; operating systems Linux or Windows Server. All environments are based on open standards and documented interfaces. Customer data and configurations are accessible and exportable via standard protocols (API, SQL, S3-compatible). When changing providers, dedicated servers remain in the data center, but data can be fully transferred. No hidden dependencies, no proprietary data formats, no legal barriers to data migration.

Location and sales network
The BEKOM headquarters are in Bielefeld. Through a sales and partner network, BEKOM has regional representation in North, West, East and South. Tier-1 partners provide central service hubs in Frankfurt, Berlin and Hamburg/Pinneberg.
The first point of contact for enquiries is headquarters in Bielefeld; BEKOM can arrange contact with regional representation or a Tier-1 partner as required.
For nationwide projects, the Bielefeld headquarters coordinates all activities – regional partners are brought in as needed but remain organizationally tied to central project management.
